Positive Self-Talk Because He Wanted To Survive

Faced with brain surgery that even his physician said he was unlikely to survive, Blaine relied on what had always worked in his life: the power of positive self-talk to visualize a successful outcome.

Blaine is 90 years old and has much wisdom to share with us. This is his story:

Pressure had built in Blaine’s brain causing his health to deteriorate very quickly. Although surgery was the only potential solution to save his life, the doctor recommended against it. Blaine’s chances of surviving it where too small. Even if he did wake up from the anesthesia, he would most likely be disoriented for the rest of his life, and suffer terrible migraines.

Blaine knew he still had life to live, and made the decision to go ahead with the surgery. He decided to play his part in making the surgery a success. He prepared himself fully by only speaking to himself in a positive way. If any negative self-talk crept into his awareness, he immediately changed the inner conversation to positive words.

Over and over, he told himself that the surgery would be a big success and that he would survive.. He saw himself waking up, and feeling great. There is always a danger of getting an infection in hospital, but he saw himself free of any infection and coming home healthy and happy. He went over this visualization dozens of times.

On surgery day at the hospital, he felt very relaxed. He had imagined this moment so many times, and he felt like the positive outcome was already his. He felt deep inside that his visualization had already come true.

And it did turn out just like he had visualized. Not only was the surgery successful, but he has no side effects from it. Now Blaine has a new lease on life. He exercises everyday, meditates, reads loads of spiritual books, and greatly enjoys his beautiful wife of 38 years Bette. He also tells great inspiring stories about his life, like this one that he told me and that I’m sharing with you.

Thanks for reading.

With all my wishes that you feel love today,
