Self-talk to live a life of wonder

"I live a life of wonder."

There’s magic in my life. Abundance flows. All my needs are met. This was my self-talk as I walked back to my motel room with a big juicy lemon in each hand.

I had woken early to do a walking meditation. My husband kindly handed me water before I left.  I told him that I would really like lemon juice to go with the water. We both shrugged. Where would you get lemons this time of day in a motel?

I went out into the darkness to do my walking meditation. I walked through a dark golf course to make my way to the open desert that lay beyond it. There I did my walking meditation just as the dawn began to break. It was glorious and I had a moment of déjà vu as I realized that I was experiencing exactly what I had come to the desert to seek. I was filled with awe and gratitude for this perfect opportunity.

On my way back I became concerned about crossing the golf course again as golfers were zooming around with their carts hitting balls. I scampered up a hill to find another way back. There I came upon three lemon trees hidden behind the motel. Each filled with plump ripe lemons. The trees and grounds were covered with them.

It was such a quick answer to my prayer that it left me speechless and grinning like a crazy fool. Not only was I given lemons, but they turned out to be the very best lemons I’d ever had in my life.

My self talk:

  • I live a life of wonder, seeped in mystery.

  • I keep space open for the limitless opportunities that are possible.

  • I keep doing the work, moving forward.

  • I am grateful for all that has come and all that is to come.

Thank you for reading.
With love,
