“I stopped asking the question of whether or not something I do is good enough, and I started asking ‘Is it me enough?’.”-- Brittney Spencer, singer-songwriter
May my work reflect who I am. May what I create be an extension of my true authentic self. May what I put into the world be reflection of my spirit.
Whatever your thing is right now – painting, writing, dancing, gardening, cooking, raising children, counselling, meditation, yoyoing, renos or singing like Brittney Spencer – it’s what you are bringing forth into this world. The more it reflects you, and is imbued with your love, the more impact it has as remedy, and source of joy, for this world. So it’s not a question of the perfect creation, it’s a question of a loving creation true to you.
Maybe you are looking for your thing? Good for you. Keep looking. Go after it like it’s the last bus leaving for the beach on a hot day. You’ll know it when you see it, feel it, experience it. You’ll look into its eyes and say, where have you been all my life? It's your heart's job to decide what is for you and it will let you know when it finds it. You might find it ridiculous, or a little scary, or more fun than you've had in ages. Whatever age that happens, that is the right time for you. I feel like I am starting a new chapter now myself.
So truly forget your perfect offering and go for your authentic contribution. Whatever calls you, go for it. Make it yours. So what if someone doesn’t get it. It will be someone else’s cup of tea for sure – and that someone is you and your tribe.
Creating from our hearts is a very intimate thing to do. We must get very real and personal to be able to do that. I'm participating in a free, 13-day event called “INTIMACY IGNITED”, where you’ll learn from me and over 20 other experts, everything you need to know about how to create the feelings of deep love, connection, and fulfillment within yourself and in your relationships. My self talk:
It's more important for it to be me than if it's perfect or if others like it.
Is it me enough?
I am enough as I am and so are my creations.
It's my thing.
Tell your heart: lead me to you.
Thanks for reading!
With love,
